Wind

All night long the firs
Roar glad in the gale while I listen
Through brittle glass, out
Into sinewy darkness where
All about me heaving branches knotted
Tight to their tough trunks swing
Wild and dizzy in the drunken air waves

Riotous offering, tree tide of tumbling
Jade fragrant needles each
Given grateful to the air’s
Fierce caress! That roar multitudinous
Ecstasy, and Oh, I cannot sleep
In the company of such
Love making
